Walking in the Presence of God

I have thought about walking in the presence of God for a long time.  What does it mean?  How do I get to walk in the presence of the almighty God?  Moses even told God that he wanted to see him and God said you cannot look upon my face. If Moses could not see His face how could I possibly be able to be in His presence? Through prayer, study of the Word and the teachings of men and women of God I believe I finally know what it means.  Do I have it perfected? No, but I’m working on it.

Being in God’s presence is a lifestyle.  The scripture that really opened my eyes to this is Psalm 73 : 28. “But for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made Adonai Eloim my refuge, so that I can tell of all your works”. (The Complete Jewish Bible)  How can I tell of all the works of God? By walking with Him, by listening to Him, by putting those things that He speaks to us through his Word, prayer and the guidance of the  Holy Spirit that lives inside of us to work. How many people were told by God not to go to work on 911?  How many people were told to run from the danger on that terrible day? God wants to talk to us all the time, but we need to have ears to hear. We need to keep God near! How do we do this? We communicate with God. Talk to him just like He was setting across the table from you. How do you get answers to questions you have of a friend or teacher?  You ask them. Nothing is too small or too big for God.  He has an answer for every question or need we have.  Great inventions were birthed because of people who asked of and knew the voice of God. George Washington Carver, a great inventor spent his mornings out in the woods studying nature and seeking God for his inventions.

God wants us to stop tolling.  He wants us to seek Him for everything.  We can worry about all kinds of things, our kids, our jobs, our marriages and the list goes on and on. Every answer to every need is found in the presence of God. Let me give you an example of the voice of God.  I have been home this week Spring cleaning.  I was washing my windows and found that there was a place that seemed impossible to clean.  My first thought was, “why in the world did someone makes these so difficult to clean”? But in the back of my mind I heard the word Q-tip. I went to the bathroom and found a Q-tip and it worked perfectly.  I believe God was showing me the way to clean my window seals. I could have brushed it off and still been tolling over those windows.  God helped me do something as small as cleaning my windows.

You may be asking, “How do I know it is the voice of God”? If you are born again and study His Word   and pray, you will know his voice. The scripture tells us that in John 10 .

God has great things for us to do while we remain here on earth and we can only accomplish it by the leading of His voice. One word of warning, the voice of men can be deceiving. Always pray about what man tells you, line it up with the Word of God and never jump into something too quickly.  If it is of God, you will know and He will lay out the plan to complete it. Don’t try to make it happen yourself.  God’s motives will always be for your good and will lead you to the plans and purposes He has for you to complete your mission.

As you go through your day, begin talking to God as if He is walking right beside you.  It may be strange at first, but you will soon find out He is the best friend you will ever have.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to teach women a practical way to stand on the Word of God for every circumstance they may encounter in their lives. Building strong women who know who they are in Christ, not afraid to stand against their adversary (the devil), women who will stand up and take back what has been stolen from them by the enemy, women becoming what God has called them to be in their homes, jobs, churches and communities.

Good Newsflash

BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

Psalm 1:1 AMP
